While searching for information on lotus pods on the net, I cam accross an interesting phenomenon - trypophobia - the fear of holes. The lotus pod, it seems, is a classical trigger for such an anxiety attack.

While searching for information on lotus pods on the net, I came across an interesting phenomenon – trypophobia – the fear of holes. The lotus pod, it seems, is a classical trigger for such an anxiety attack.

Given the chance, the white vase stands nicely on its own as well.

A composition under the theme ‘stillness of winter’ realized through lotus pods, blueberry twigs, birch twigs and a fluffy variety of green true grass. The shiny silver twigs remind me of stiff, cold icicles, and the flowerless pods are a sign of the ‘dead season’. However, green is never completely out of the picture, even under the snow: the blueberry twigs are already budding and the second moribana bowl repeats the green colour of the lotus pods.
