I’m thinking in terms of a swamp somewhere in the wild Everglades, and a pond within, where a bright lotus flower rises up from the murky waters. Better yet, a scent of jasmin fills the air.

There was so much strength and vitality in these materials and in the container, too, that I was not at all worried to present this arrangement and leave it on display for several days at Kalliola exhibition in fall 2015. The flower stems were probably sturdier than many of the passers-by! And they survived long after the exhibition was over. The best materials anyone could ask for.

I saw a few pictures of arrangements fitted into boxes not long ago and got inspired By a semi-transparent box I had stored in my bathroom. Here’s my version of a box arrangement; a table arrangement combining fresh and dry materials such as oats, carnations and rosé pepper.
