Seasonal Yellow

But which season? The materials – tulip and juniper – could theoretically evoke Christmas time, but combined with this pair of yellow vases, the impression rather suggests Easter and spring time. This double feature is a practice of using low and wide angles with branches. It became one of my instant favourite positions. Made on Shunran’s weekend course in November 2013.

Flowers for my Father’s birthday around Easter 2012. The idea is to continue the vertical lines of the vase with upward movement; also, light contrasted colours work together to create a soft pastel impression.

Easter Basket

Easter Basket

This arrangement was made on a three-hour floral design course in Helsinki. The task was to plant bulbous flowers and greens into a chosen basket. My basket looks like a stylish purse. It has a metal plaque saying ‘Les Saisons’, which suits the theme. I planted flowers in violet tones: Muscari armeniacum and croci. In the middle stands a white Kalanchoe blossfeldiana. Too bad this picture was taken so early that the results are yet to be seen. Teacher: R.Raita
